| 355821 | 2005-05-17 01:47:00 | Just bought a Brother MFC210C printer/scanner/copier. All I want to do is be able to use the B&W functions - I do not want to use the colour cartridges, but it appears that the darned thing will not let me print B&W (or even continue "setup") unless I install the other three colour cartridges. In a few weeks I'll be leaving NZ for six months and thus do not want to open the colour cartridges (and have the ink dry out) just so I can print B&W for the next few weeks. I wonder - if I can locate some empty colour cartridges and install them will this allow me to print B&W? This rip-off is really irritating... | Neptune417 (8136) | ||

| 355827 | 2005-05-17 09:16:00 | Well, I've had my 210C for near 8 mths, still the original inks - still full & going great - (nobody knows my fax. no) so for those who post here, check your facts & do u have one yourself, rather than getting 2nd hand stories. I'm not usually a great fan of Brother, but the 210c was cheap & economical. Don't go off saying every printer co. are rip-offs. if u don't like 'em - don't buy 'em. I have an Epson x3, HP x4, Brother x1, Lexmark x1, Canon x2, Oki x1 - they cost me a fortune, but I don't get all shirty about it... ;) |
