355665 2005-05-16 08:37:00 i tried to install a game and a message like this keeps coming up in this

16 bit windows subsystem
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running MS-dos and microsoft windows applications

is this a virus how can i get rid of it
or if it is not y wont it install the game and how do i fix the problem

Might be a compatibility prob depending on what youre trying to install, or a corrupt file.

355668 2005-05-16 11:35:00 Looking at the error message looks like you have a version of the game not suitable for your O/S. Perhaps you should confirm that before reinstalling. zqwerty (97)
355669 2005-05-16 12:04:00 goto c:\windows\repair copy the autoexec.nt file that is there to c:\windows\system32, then make it read only

Yes virus and spyware activity can cause this but so can sp2 (believe it or not. Buried very very very deep in the microsoft knowledge base)

Also a forum search would have revealed many threads on this subject
