| 355542 | 2005-05-16 07:04:00 | I have about 120 .idx icons appearing on my desktop. I delete them and then empty the recycle bin. When I restart my computer they all appear again, also if I refresh they will reappear. This started to happen after I was using Nero Smartsuite but do not know if this is relevant. I did a "find" and the only place they are in is Desktop. How can I get rid of them? | gradebdan (2186) | ||
| 355543 | 2005-05-16 07:47:00 | Not much help I"m afraid but a search on www.google.com for ".idx icons" (with the quotes) suggests they are from a UK online betting agency. If you want to get rid of them have a look at the FAQs ( link above) about spyware / malware and get those recommended programs, like Spybot and AdAware and run them. Looks like malware to me.
