2014-10-10 03:24:00 | my dad came round with his sky box but we get a "rain fade" message and no signal... clear fine day too. The dish was working fine a few days ago as I plugged in a freeview box (that I was testing before loaning to a friend) and it worked fine then, but it's not working on my dad's sky box. Any suggestions? it's worked in the past when we've tried it. Cheers, Mike.

2014-10-10 04:08:00 | Did you have your access card properly installed. Are all connections sweet and do all the wires go where they are supposed to go? | Bryan (147) | |

2014-10-10 06:11:00 | Maybe the dish has become misaligned due to high winds or such EDIT: Oops, already mentioned Is the LNB still there?

2014-10-10 07:04:00 | ...we get a "rain fade" message and no signal... clear fine day too... "Rain fade" does not mean rain fade. It means that the box is not receiving signals and defaults to showing a message stored on the box. The message means "unknown error" but Sky find it more acceptable to blame the weather. I agree with other comments: no power to the LNB - box not compatible with the dish (not outputting the right voltage to switch LNBs or polarisation) - or dish knocked off alignment

How much would it need to move to be misaligned? are we talking millimetres or more? Cheers, Mike. |
