| 1385781 | 2014-10-07 06:34:00 | A mate who has Win 8.1 cant get 3 Icons to stay where he puts them on the Desktop. He has align to grid ticked and all (12) except three stay where he puts them. However, these three will stay where he puts them OK until the computer is restarted at which time they put themselves where they want to go and rearrange the others to suit. :( One of these delinquent icons is just a link to a Website. Got me beat, any ideas anyone? :thanks |

| 1385784 | 2014-10-07 20:37:00 | Update: Tried everything in the link you provided Wainui but no luck. He has deleted one errant icon which leaves two that won’t stay put, both of which are links. (Trade Me and a cooking website) I thought turning off Themes might fix it but no such luck. I also note from my Google searches for an answer that one guy has written a Batch File to edit the Registry but I’m reluctant to run Batch Files on other people’s computers especially seeing I am not familiar with the operating system or recovery processes. |
