1371138 2014-03-24 00:29:00 I know they are expensive but does anyone know a dentist with reasonable to low costs in Auckland or anywhere you can drive to near Auckland. Appreciate any help Cheers. bruciebear (1478)
1371139 2014-03-24 01:18:00 Mitre 10 no. 2 Linesmans pliers.
(kidding but I have an Uncle who really pulled his own teeth with pliers)

I Just started going back to the dentist last year, I chose Lumino's because it's close to where I live and work. I'm not sure a cheap dentist would be a great Idea, but I even hear of people going on overseas holidays to get dental work done due to the huge difference in price. And yes it was expensive.

Define "Cheap"?

Most Auckland dentists charge a minimum of $55 just to say "Hi"

I think a check up would cost you at least $150 or more.

Possibly if you have a community services card you might be able to get a bit less than that but generally Dentist and "cheap" don't belong in the same sentence.

1371142 2014-03-24 04:24:00 Ask for a quote, on a check and then for work required. Lumino are known to be expensive, so seek out a 'one man band' practice in the suburbs. You are the only person who knows what you consider reasonable, and what you can afford. Richard (739)
1371143 2014-03-24 04:26:00 Sometimes you can get into the local hospital for the students to train on. Say Auckland Hospital, and I believe they are supervised - you could inquire.

No idea of cost though.

Wouldn't see me when I was down South.
Although I wasn't a Dunedin resident....
