1385717 2014-10-06 23:21:00 I get this message

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

I put in my windows 7 DVD and chose "Repair start up" but that didn't work.

1385718 2014-10-06 23:35:00 Try going into the BIOS and make sure the HDD is detected. Make sure either the DVD or HDD are the 1st and 2nd boot devices.

If the HDD is 2nd then leave out the DVD, if its still not booting from the HDD it could be corrupted. Start up repair on Windows doesn't always work to good. Being W7 you can boot from the DVD, repair computer, select the Command prompt and try running chkdsk through the Drive. These instructions are for vista but W7 is the same kb.wisc.edu

Also make sure everything is plugged in firm like the SATA cables and power.

Also Make sure you dont have any USB drives attached, seen them cause that message, bit like the old floppy boot system error ;)

Question: What were you doing prior to this happening, Eg: partitioning, made changes etc ?

1385719 2014-10-07 00:13:00 Just adding to the Make sure you don't have any USB drives attached --- How many internal HDDs are there ? If more than one make sure the right one containing the OS is the boot drive. wainuitech (129)
1385720 2014-10-07 00:15:00 It can't find the hard drive. If the hard drive was OK before, no changes to boot order or such - then it has most likely died. pctek (84)
1385721 2014-10-07 01:54:00 I went into the BIOS and change the boot up of the drives which became switch and now it works lostsoul62 (16011)
1385722 2014-10-07 02:10:00 Awhhhh it got confuddled :D

A state where a person becomes so confused, their brain shuts down discontinuing further function, primarily to the mouth and speech function Sounds a bit like some of our politicians :D
