1384974 2014-09-29 01:49:00 Is anyone here using an Intel 7260 AC Wireless card?

The issue doesn't seem to be with the 5GHz part of the card - it's the 2.4 GHz that's the issue. Hundreds, probably thousands of posts on Intel's forums about them beinf unreliable.

See below. A ping test to a PC on the local network, and below a ping test to the same PC at the same time from a different laptop (With an Atheros card).

Also iperf tests - Bearing in mind the Atheros card is not MIMO, so is only talking to the AP at 150Mbps, where the 7260 is connecting at 300Mbps, also running off a 100Mbit switch. FYI an iperf test over LAN yeilds 87.5Mbps which is exactly what it should be...

I've just picked a couple of iperf tests that reflect the average speeds. I've also tested with differnet APs, so it's definitley not an AP issue. The Ap all these tests are running off is using a 40Mhz channel width currently.

I also ran some with the bluetooth turned off on the 7260, just in case that was intefering, and it seemed to help a little, but that still is way off the mark.

1384975 2014-09-29 02:11:00 I was going to get one lol. To try out this wireless display I was going to try out

But some / or most of Intel's wireless adapters are pretty crappy. Esp their wireless on laptops. And their drivers have been known to crash

1384976 2014-09-29 02:20:00 Lol after my experience I would say don't bother....I generally like Intel stuff but this is extremely poor. wratterus (105)
1384977 2014-09-29 02:53:00 Just threw the old (Atheros) card back in my laptop and re-tested...
