| 1371636 | 2014-03-30 08:34:00 | The NZ Herald says that people are complaining about the cost of dying. If you believe what the Insurance Company's say, you need $5000 for a funeral. I hate being ripped off while alive, let alone when I'm dead! Because I am on a downward spiral towards the inevitable, I did a bit of investigating. North Shore Council estimated $250 for cremation. The legal paper work would not cost much if done by your lawyer who would be sympathetic to you; unless you were an obnoxious bastard! Any container would do providing it was combustible, like cardboard and wood. All that would be left would be a few Beers for friends. Cut out any religious crap. If you want all this bullshit go for it, but don't complain and expect a Government (taxpayer) hand out. |

| 1371639 | 2014-03-30 11:48:00 | My life insurance pays out, and my wife gets the $$, along with an additional $10K towards funeral expenses etc If I'm going out, I want friends and family to have a chance to grieve, to say their goodbye. I want them to have a meal to celebrate what an awesome life I had, remember the good times, and to see me off with as much respect as they need to help them in their time of sadness. |

And he made it quite clear to any other health worker as well - that I would make the decisions. No help at the time, but it made my decisions at the time easier - and the sons agreed! :) | R.M.
