1371278 2014-03-25 20:11:00 If you have experience of these two brands, which would you recommend? (these are my only options as the dealer only has these two currently in stock) The Adata is $10 cheaper, but that won't affect my choice.

Adata or Crucial?

Adata or Crucial?

Cant comment on Crucial, but also consider Kingston .

My Work sells a bit of RAM (not big quantities though)
Over the last 3 years , Ive had more faulty Adata ram than any other brand. Will never buy again
In fact so bad, Ive had warranty replacement Adata that was also faulty , straight out of the bag.
The ram in my home PC : one of the Adata sticks failed on that as well (intermittent)
I would say that in recent years Ive seen more faulty Adata RAM than all other brands combined.

It doesnt all fail of course :-)

Strangely, the Adata usb sticks are good .
The Adata USB external HD's : some of the new models have a design fault where the usb3 cable wont clip in securely & just falls out.
So wont be buying those again either, a pity as weve been selling them for the last 3 years, generally were quite reliable.

1371280 2014-03-25 21:40:00 Cant comment on Crucial, but also consider KingstonAs mentioned, my dealer only has the two brands available in the type I need, and I want the sticks asap. Yeah Kingston would've been my first choice, but circumstances make it not an option.

Thanks for your input.

1371281 2014-03-25 21:54:00 Just thought I'd add... you folks who work on computers, rather than us who work with computers will have a much better insight into the pro's and cons of memory modules. In my +/- 25 years of computing I've only ever had one bad stick - a DSE / generic stick which didn't work at all. DSE, despite some petty reluctance from the then manager of the branch, replaced it with a working module. Greg (193)
1371282 2014-03-25 22:03:00 If forced at gunpoint to choose between the two, Crucial. In any real-world circumstance, by choice would be "Go elsewhere that sells Corsair, G.Skill or Kingston RAM". inphinity (7274)
1371283 2014-03-25 22:55:00 Crucial out of those.
I usually go for Kingston, then Corsair.

1371284 2014-03-26 01:00:00 Crucial but like others I used to use Kingston, Corsair etc as well. pctek (84)
