LISTING OF ROUTINES
TESTING PORTS
CLEAR CMOS
PRINTER TEST
JOYSTICK TEST
ERASE SECTOR 2
ERASE ALL HDD INFORMATION
ERASE HDD AND CLEAR CMOS
DISCHARGE OLD LAPTOP BATTERIES
REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER
CREATE A SLEEP FILE FOR DOS
CHECK BIOS DATE
VIDEO CARD TYPE
bearing in mind my ability is the lower side of the scale... :badpc:

357189 2005-05-21 08:27:00 Exact message is
The instruction at 0x00449050 ref. memory at 0x00449050.
The required data was not placed to memory because of an I/0 error status at 0xc000009c.
Click on OK to terminate the program.Click on Cancel to debug the program.

WHEN I HAVE CLICKED ON CANCEL the same thing happens next time I try to read the C D. so I am getting nowhere...I have tried rebooting but it does not help....

357190 2005-05-21 08:36:00 Whatever is on the CD, it sounds like it is corrupt.

An I/O error status code of 0xC000009C normally indicates that the data could not be read from the CD due to a bad block (sector) on the CD.

There is simply no way you can "debug" the code unless you wrote it in the first place, so do not go there!

If the CD is clean, then its a lost cause I believe. If its dirty, wash and dry it.

357191 2005-05-21 08:39:00 Do a scan for spyware. Some spyware may bring up errors like that.

Or post a hijackthis log here, and we'll see what it shows.
