356564 2005-05-19 02:49:00 Since XP and new CPU was installed, intermittent and unscheduled shutdowns have been occuring, often within a minute or so of startups. Power supply, motherboard, and HD drive connections have been checked without improvement. Checks for viruses have been made, and for worms and other dodgy items. Any suggestions for further action? chook67 (8158)
356565 2005-05-19 02:53:00 It may be overheating recheck the CPU heatsink also make sure its not overclocked Overdrive_5000 (4950)

356567 2005-05-19 02:56:00 Right click My computer>Properties>Advanced>startup and recovery settings,Untick auto restart.

This should give you an error msg instead of a reboot, if it doesn't then its hardware triggering it outside of the windows enviorment and probally means your CPU is overheating or you PSU is knackered....
