| 357365 | 2005-05-22 05:10:00 | Yesterday I tried logging in to my user account(on windows xp pro, sp2) However it asked me for a password and i never created a password. This is the same for every other user and no-one can log on now. I would like to find out how this happened and how i can fix it. thanks charith |

You will then get the ability to use the 'hidden' Administrator account - which may or may not have a password, depending if you have ever set one. When you are logged on as Admin, goto Control Panel, User accounts and change / delete the password for your user account. If this is sucessful, restart Windows normally. If you still can't access your user account, you probably have a seriously corrupted profile, and the best way around is to create a new user account and copy your data files over (once again using Administrator logon in Safe Mode). Why it happens? Who knows, it's like many other corruptions that occur from time to time. :( |
