357615 2005-05-23 01:02:00 Hi All
I'm trying to test a website I have hosted locally using the no-ip service (it's not for public use so I won't take up any offers of testing thanks). To test it I have use online anonymisers (e.g. MegaProxy & Guardster) so that I can get out into the web and back into my router as if I was a third party. These anonymisers work ok for viewing a webpage but won't allow file downloads (other than txt) and I want to test the downloading of files such as pdf, mdb, xls etc.

My questions are : are there any online anonymisers of which other PF1 users are aware that will allow me to test the file download? MegaProxy and Guardster only allow txt 'downloads'. Or is there some freeware / shareware that others could recommend to help me with my testing?
Thanks, Andrew

357616 2005-05-23 01:32:00 Alternatively, you could perhaps, as I did a year or two ago, use another computer with dial up and external modem. That way I had a different IP address to the one allocated for ADSL.
At that time as I used less than 1 hour, I wasn't even charged by Paradise for the time used.

357617 2005-05-23 01:43:00 I've tried a few from the link below... some work ok occasionaly, but mostly are garbage, trying to exhort you into their paid versions. Worth a look though.

357620 2005-05-23 09:38:00 Thanks for the comments everyone. I found a programme called 'GhostSurf' on TUCOWS. Before I try it, I thought I might ask if anyone here has tried it? Any thoughts or experiences with GhostSurf?
