358046 2005-05-24 09:52:00 Hi Christopher. You may need to clarify your query. The cursor is the indicator on the screen of where your mouse is pointing - sometimes your Inertion Point. Your mention of all your cursors........ Scouse (83)
358047 2005-05-24 09:57:00 Sorry, I want to change my cursor theme. But everytime I change it, i get a pop up saying it's either missing or corrupt. Christopher (365)
358048 2005-05-24 10:10:00 Hi

I'm guessing at some point you have tried to change your mouse pointer scheme and Windows has alerted you with some form of popup that suggests the mouse pointer files are either missing or corrupted.

By default Windows XP installs 184 *.CUR and *.ANI files into the C:\WINDOWS\Cursors folder.

To replace these or overwrite a corrupted one do the following:

1. Insert Windows XP CD-Rom into CD-Rom/DVD player

2. Click START, and select Run

3. Type Expand D:\i386\*.CU_ -r C:\Windows\Cursors and click OK

4. Type Expand D:\i386\*.AN_ -r C:\Windows\Cursors and click OK

Notes:

A. If the CD-Rom/DVD drive your XP cd is in is not the D drive then replace D: with the correct drive letter.

B. The underscore (.i.e. _) after *.CU is just that, an underscore, so make sure you type that and not a space in its place.

C. The default path to your cursors folder is C:\WINDOWS\Cursors If this is not where you cursors folder is then change the path in the commands above before executing them.

D. Finally, if prompted whether or not to overwrite an exisitng *.CUR or *.ANI file in the Cursors folder, click Yes or Yes to all

Timothy
