357816 2005-05-23 09:49:00 When is it getting released here? (WiMAX) I am interested in it(assuming it doesnt cost to much, which it probly will), and to see what it can do.

I went to intel.com and it had a big thing on their homepage
went to intel.co.nz and nothing..........

357817 2005-05-23 10:06:00 You need to check if the frequency is allocated in our NZ spectrum. The MED will be able to help.

If its already spoken for or reserved, don't hold your breath. It speaks of "licenced" frequencies in part, so save your pennies if its also the case here.

A 10 GHz bandwidth frequency in the 60 GHz range could be a really big ask, financially.

357818 2005-05-23 10:10:00 The main reason i ask, is because i wanna setup a small "isp" type thing for people in my area, and my $120 DSE wireless point doesnt quite cut it, and its a little bit tricky running cat5 wires all over the neighborhood (duno if thats how you spell it  )
Any other way i could do it?

357824 2005-05-24 07:27:00 if you want to setup your own wireless isp using wimax, you're looking at US$25,000 to do it properly

"no allowed sky" sounds like you're a little young to be tackling this kind of thing...

what is it that you are wanting to achieve exactly? Brooklyn is going to be a bastard to setup for wireless...
