2005-05-23 09:20:00 | Yes. Just double click on the pps file and it should open in OOo Impress. | Jen (38) | |
2005-05-23 09:25:00 | I've tried that & nothing happens. It just opens ooo & shows & does nothing. I'm using 000 2.0 with XP. I tried it with 1.1.4 too, same thing

2005-05-23 09:55:00 | Strange. What happens if you open up Impress first and then go File > Open and browse for your presentation? Does this happen with all .pps? What happens if you rename the extension from .pps to .ppt first? | Jen (38) | |
2005-05-23 10:04:00 | It doesn't matter how I open it, it's the same. OOO opens, the outer part of the presentation is visible, but the part of the screen that should have the moving bits is blank. The panel with the templates is visible to the right of the screen. Thats with macros enabled or disabled. The files work ok with powerpoint so I know they're ok. Renaming makes no difference either. | Phil B (648) | |
2005-05-23 10:09:00 | So this powerpoint show has lots of animations or movie clips embedded? You may find that the file is not compatible with OOo. I take it other less formatted pps's work fine? | Jen (38) | |
2005-05-23 10:14:00 | I've never had one work yet. I'm wanting to use this suite at work to replace ms office. It's not that I need impress (yet) it's just for the fun email attachments. | Phil B (648) | |
2005-05-24 06:11:00 | Might it need Java or some other processing software? Or maybe a security setting? | Graham L (2) | |
2005-05-24 08:52:00 | Hunt across the menu's and select Play Slideshow. Works for me. | Murray P (44) | |
2005-05-25 10:01:00 | I've either got something missing or I'm really dumb. I've tried it with macros enabled & disabled, start slide show & I get the opening screen, but no animation. If I click on the start button in the presentation, it just terminates. Is there a plug in missing? | Phil B (648) | |
