358020 2005-05-24 09:01:00 When I turn my pc (athlon 2500+ XP home sp2) on my network card never works properly.

In LAN settings under connections/system/control panel its says it cannot work properly because of error code (10).

I have my router connected via the network card, and to fix this problem I simply reset and 'bingo', it works fine.

How do I find out what error code (10) is and/or could this just be a faulty card?

Thanks very much for any help.

358023 2005-05-25 07:36:00 Is it on-board network card or a separate one?
Which model (and model of the motherboard)?

358024 2005-05-25 07:39:00 Try deleting the card in device manager and reboot. Sometimes, this fixes it. Speedy Gonzales (78)

The card is separate pci board that I took out of another machine and put into my current pc .

and my motherboard is an Asus (I think), is there anyway to find out the exact make via a windows componant . . . ie . device manager . . . ?

Currently when I turn my pc on in the mornings . . . . the card is not working "error (10)" as stated above, I fix this by resetting my machine and it suddenly works . . . . :illogical

Thanks for everyones help so far . . . .

358029 2005-05-27 06:02:00 Have you tried the card in another PCI slot?
When the card is working, does it show what resources it is using?
