Could I contract someone to create my application and I get royalties from the sales, or do I just send my ideas to a company and they would arrange some form of benefit for me? Could I learn an programming language just so I could make this program, or would this basically be wasting my time? Or would it be better to work on an extension for Mozilla. Less work? |

Making money from it would be the difficult part . Apart from distribution, providing support is expensive . Have a look at the sourceforge . net site for scheduling projects . These are people who are doing such things as "open" software . . . free . That is your competition . Look at the code they produce . That's how difficult it is . ;) Do a Google serach for "shareware" and you'll probably still be able to find guides to marketing software by the shareware scheme . Learning a programming language is always a good idea . However, the first programme you write is unlikely to be of marketable quality . ;) Hiring a programmer is likely to be expensive . How do you find a company you can trust with your ideas . And with due respect, the ideas are quite likely to be not all that original . . . Buy a lotto ticket . That has a very small chance of a financial return . |
