358603 2005-05-27 02:51:00 Thanks for all your trouble Bruce,
When you say MS keyboard and mouse, I expect it would work with HP ones as well. As I am thinking of getting a HP computer.
Also one of my systems would be Windows ME. I wonder if that would work just as well as Windows XP?
:)

358607 2005-05-27 04:27:00 Would you say bluetooth keyboard are better than the wireless keyboard?

By better I meant the connection between the keyboard/mouse and the receiver.

358608 2005-05-27 05:07:00 yes, and easier to add devices, although I don't know how friendly xp is with bluetooth plod (107)

The KVM box behaves like a keyboard and a mouse to the computer hardware, through the BIOS interface. It should make no difference whether the OS is Windows XP, Windows ME, or DOS or Linux as long as the BIOS supports USB keyboard and mouse.

358610 2005-06-01 16:39:00 Well I'm up and running with a MS wireless keyboard and mouse connected to a USB KVM switch, which is connected to two PCs. Works fine, no problems and as Metla pointed out, I didn't even need to install the software/drivers for it to work. So, you don't need two receivers, and you can go wireless with a KVM.

Bruce and Friends,

Glad to hear that u r fine with ur wireless keyboard/mouse and KVM. Well...I have a problem. I bought this Belkin KVM switch which takes in PS/2's and I have wireless keyboard and mouse. I have a single wireless receiver which receives both the keyboard and mouse and gives you only one USB output which is plugged into my PC.

Now I am trying to put this USB thru a PS/2 KVM switch. It just didn't work. The receiver itself dies off meaning the power light on the receiver comes on and goes off immediately. Finding it kinda hard to resolve this.

Any pointers on how to connect my single USB wireless mouse/keyboard receiver to a 2 port PS/2 KVM switch would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
