| 358440 | 2005-05-25 16:31:00 | For no apparent reason I started getting this error "D:/ is not accessible - Incorrect function" from my DVDRW when trying to read blank and multisessions discs. I found alot of helpful links at this site (duxcw) (www.duxcw.com) via google, but none have solved my problem. I have also never used Roxio software (support.microsoft.com). I notice in the screenshot (sal.neoburn.net) that the DVDRW icon changes to a plain CD Drive icon. Apparently in my D: > Properties I'm supposed to have a 'Recording' tab but dont. A Microsoft h&s link (support.microsoft.com) to solve this problem mentioned modifying a registry value, but because I have a DVD-RW (which worked fine only just yesterday) and they only talk about CDR/RW, I'm not sure what value to put in. Help!? |

Only CD burners . It's pretty limited in what it can do . Use Nero for data and other things to burn whatever u need to DVD . Try deleting the DVD burner in device manager . And reboot it might change it to a DVD-RW in My computer . . . |

The XP recording software DOES support DVD burners, but only for CDs as far as I know (it may support DVDs as of SP2 but I've never tried). The recording tab should still be present in any case. Just follow the directions that Microsoft give for CD-RW drives and you should be fine. |

I only burn with nero, also tried uninstalling the drive, but on reboot the drive is reinstalled and still cant read multisessioned discs "Incorrect Function" is the normal response when you try to read a blank disc with no packet-writing recording software installed (such as the built in XP one), or with it disabled. I have nero installed :/ |

| 358444 | 2005-05-26 21:03:00 | BUT did u use Nero, so u could add more files to the DVD/CD?? For the multisession? Nero Express/data/data disc option? And tick in Nero that u want a multisession cd/dvd? NOT use XP's built in burning engine?? Is it data your adding (exe files etc) to the DVD, or other like video files? |

I have been to a ton of sites, but none of them are helping because I dont have roxio or nero. In addition to this, it only happens under one profile, my other profile for XP works fine. Thanks, Kate |
