| 358277 | 2005-05-25 08:10:00 | I notice that S-ATA HDD drive connections are rather 'loose'. Their connections are not as 'secure' as their ATA conterparts. My encounters are all with ASUS motherboards which supplied all those S-ATA cables, both signal and power cables. Do all S-ATA cables like this or only those supplied by ASUS? If they are all the same, is there any way I can secure those connection, like using some kind of adhesive tape, etc Cheers |

I only got the connector for the mobo, not for the power . I had to buy the power adapter . I experienced one occation where the signal cable became 'loose' (didn't come off totally, however) causing a Hdd failure when booting . After that incidence, I became more aware of S-ATA cable connections and notice that they are not as 'secure' as ATA cables . Thinking of using some kind of adhesive tapes to secure them . Is this a good idea, or there are some other better methods? Cheers |
