359397 2005-05-28 21:58:00 I am a win xp user and need some non desructive paritioning sowtware for free
any suggestions :help:
I need it so i can make a parition to run linux
My drive is paritioned in ntfs at the moment
which mandrake cant parition no descructivekly

359398 2005-05-28 22:07:00 SystemRescue CD (http://www.sysresccd.org/) is a bootable CD that has QTParted on it. This is a PartitionMagic Clone and can resize NTFS non-destructively. You will need to make sure the drive is fully defragged first otherwise you will have problems.

As with all non-destructive repartitioning, bad things can and will happen and you might lose all your data - back up everything you cannot afford to lose first

359399 2005-05-29 02:30:00 Knoppix has QTParted as well, and it is a good linux play-around too. Defrag, and back up critical stuff, just in case.

Mine did it no problem, even with a horribly fragmented drive.
