359052 2005-05-28 00:52:00 I cleaned my registry using rescrubxp, not I can't log into Windows. I tried booting into Safe Mode to do a System Restore, but F8 does nothing. Any Ideas? If I boot using a floppy, can I do a System Restore from dos? Standing_Amazed (7841)
359053 2005-05-28 01:31:00 Don't know anything about that reg cleaner. Are you sure it's legit?

What's your OS?

Getting into Safe Mode's not always easy but you should be familiar with it on that machine. If what you used to do doesn''t work now then.........trouble.

If your mention of System Resore means you've got XP then I don't think you can boot from 'true' DOS.

You'd be better off giving some more details and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will respond..............m :)

359054 2005-05-28 01:49:00 Boot off the XP CD and do a "Repair". pctek (84)
359055 2005-05-28 02:09:00 I suspect they mean regscrubXP (www.majorgeeks.com)

If the repair fails, restart with the XP CD again, but select install option, just OK till it gets to the page where it does a search for a previous install of Windows. It will then give you the option of a "Repair" install. This will reload Windows , but will keep all your programs and settings intact. The two main disadvantages are, 1/ That you have to apply SP2 and updates again, if your CDROM isn't the XP SP2 edition. 2/ Will have to re-activate XP with Microsoft
