358870 2005-05-27 07:01:00 I've got an AGP 4x videocard on the other PC here .

The prob is, the system supports it (4x) is in the BIOS .

Its set to this at the mo .

The AGP card is a 4x card, its got 3 little leds on the videocard .

Power, error, and 4x . The power and 4x leds light up .

BUT when u go to the desktop / properties/settings/advanced/the card (the Nvidia 71 . 89 drivers are installed) .

Instead of showing the speed opposite bus (AGP 4x) here it says pcix0?

Would it be the wrong version of the Nvidia drivers, thats making it do this??

The system works fine, it runs and u can get into windows xp .

I've tried 2 videocards, on this PC and it says the same thing .

Anyone seen or heard of this before?

Can be either video driver or motherboard chipset driver problems it seems.

358872 2005-05-27 07:53:00 Hmm i thought it might have something to do with the video drivers .

Most probably cant handle 71 . 89 or something . I'll reinstall them again

Altho everything else seems to be OK . Ta

358873 2005-05-27 08:29:00 No, its the chipset drivers that cause it. Download the latest ones for your board. pctek (84)
358874 2005-05-27 08:41:00 Hmm ok then .

Well theres only the ide chipset or the agp drivers which are sis??

Which I thought would only be for onboard video, which this mobo doesnt have . It has 1 AGP 8x slot, and 6 PCI ports .

358875 2005-05-27 09:12:00 Hmm well I got a reply from an ASUS Newsgroup .

Saying this is normal for this card (MX400) .

Altho I still dunno what these are for on the ASUS site .

SiS AGP WHQL Drivers for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP V7 . 2 . 0 . 1170

Theyre a bit old whatever they are from 28/7/03 .
