358886 2005-05-27 09:51:00 I have recently purchased a canon ip3000 printer to replace a canon 400, The canon 400 printer was used on 3 computers using windows 98, XP, and NT4. The ip3000 is its recomended replacement but lacks the driver needed to work on NT4 unless it has a parrallel port which it does not,as this printer is a backup for a scada system when used on NT4 the lack of driver could become very awkward.
Can anyone suggest a resolution of this problem as my search's can not.

358887 2005-05-27 10:11:00 Windows NT4 does not support any USB natively, and that printer is USB only ...

It's not the driver that is the problem, just the Operating System?

It really is the wrong printer.

358888 2005-05-27 10:31:00 you might have been better off with the ip4000r - it's got a network connection. never mind... get a parallel port printer. quarry (252)
358889 2005-05-27 14:36:00 USB print server (or share the printer off a non nt4 PC) or upgrade to win2k. gibler (49)
