But yeah, pretty much the same deal as what you suggested, and it works a treat!

Best thing was that it magicly made the same change for all relevevent file types, including .mp3s! yippy yay!!!!!!!!

No, i cant. I've set this up so that the whole point of user = guest is that guest has no rights, no password, and no access to any real users personal stuff, such as my email etc. Guest is of course the user that i will then use when it is a more public computer, such as feeding audio into a P.A. system.

The "click on a file icon and kill the playlist" feature was the only problem i had with the accessability of flaptop.




You can make your own playlist - just manually create a directory, copy/move or link music files into it. You can also do this with XMMS itself - bottom right corner is a button for for Load List, then choose New List. However, I am not aware that you can add new tracks dinamically - you will have to refresh the whole list everytime you add to it.

I'll have to look into that...... it would be a good time saver to have something set up for each type of gig.

Your music should _ideally_ be tagged nicely with Artist/Tracknames
