359867 2005-05-30 11:08:00 Purchased last week - [using XP pro] but I cant get it to run. Latest ATI Radeon 9600 drivers, Direct 9x c, tried all diferent modes on monitor, re-installed, registered the game, installed latest patch, removed all programs that could affect it like antivirus etc. and read notes. The splash screen starts, disc spins and then nothing. Does anyone have any ideas. My next option is to call a 0900 number - Maybe I should have just copied the game rather than buying it. Its just too risky buying this stuff. This is my second program in two weeks with a problem. Soooo bloody annoying. Help please !! :help: chippy (2563)

Sounds like to me you have a problem with your computer.

359870 2005-05-31 00:09:00 I had a similar problem when i brought Call of Duty+the United Offensive expansion.
Had to get a no CD patch for Call of Duty to run.
Works sweet as now but i cannot get United Offensive to run unless i remove Alcohol120% off my computer.
Have a search on google for similar probs. There might be a fix out there.

The problem with Alcohol120% is understandable and i dont mind that but it's
very annoying when you spend big money on a game and you have to resort to things like "no cd patches".

359871 2005-05-31 01:24:00 It could be a copy protection issue. Try removing any virtual drives you may have, and uninstall disc duplicating programs such as clonecd/dvd, anydvd, alcohol etc.

Some games will refuse to run if they detect any such software.

359872 2005-05-31 01:49:00 try these ea suggestions (eatech.custhelp.com)

Probably a safe disc issue - worth considering a firmware upgrade for your cd reader (if available). Make sure the disc is clean and ok too.
