359536	2005-05-29 04:00:00	on winxp the display properties box is missing the "Desktop" tab the desktop picture is now permanently an HTML file I have removed all spyware and Viruses etc from my mates system but how do I get the "desktop" tab turned back on again so I can choose a wallpaper for him. everything else seems fine cheers	shaneblyth (2366)
359537	2005-05-29 04:30:00	here was the answer I had to create one of these registry entires as it didnt exist 1) click 'start' then 'run' 2) type in 'regedit' 3) a scary looking thing loads, on the left there is a few folders named HKEY somethingorother, click HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then 'software', then 'microsoft', then 'windows' then 'currentversion', then click 'policies', and finally click 'system' 4) 5 icons should now have appeared on the right (see pic here: www.insomniafm.co.uk) 5) double click the files NoDispBackgroundPage and NoDispAppearancePage and change their value from 1 to 0 on winxp the display properties box is missing the "Desktop" tab the desktop picture is now permanently an HTML file I have removed all spyware and Viruses etc from my mates system but how do I get the "desktop" tab turned back on again so I can choose a wallpaper for him. everything else seems fine cheers	shaneblyth (2366)
