360069 2005-05-31 12:27:00 In the May 2005 issue, PC World showed how to connect to your PC remotely using Windows XP Professional.

My PC is behind a router, I have all the IP addresses. How do I address/route the IP addresses to connect to the PC behind the router?

Basically I have, say ip address 123.153.79.139 and from the router to the PC the ip address is 10.0.0.13

:help:

Cheers

360070 2005-06-01 02:34:00 I didn't read the TFA, but I assume that they were talking about using remote desktop in WinXP Pro.

What you will need to do is forward TCP Port 3389 on the router to 10.0.0.13 your computer

The setup of this will vary from router to router, but every router I have ever used has been able to do this.

You might also want to check out what Microsoft has to say about it. (www.microsoft.com)

Hope this helps

360071 2005-06-01 02:52:00 Setup FileZilla Server

Its a Free, easy-to-use, Open-source FTP Server for Win32 OS's (Read: WinXP).

Port-forward port 21 to your internal IP address, and setup a no-ip.com account if you require dynamic DNS.

Post your router model if you have any issues

Cheers

360073 2005-06-01 06:00:00 Is port 3389 remote desktop? If so, I'll write that down somewhere, Ive never known... :) Chilling_Silence (9)
360074 2005-06-01 06:06:00 Yea Remote desktop uses port 3389 but you wouldn't really want to open up that port on your router cause not very secure.
Normally you would connect to a VPN first then use RDP to PC.
