360043 2005-05-31 09:28:00 i have a external cd writer borrowed from friend, and im tryn to copy some music from my comp. and it keeps saying error. ive tried using programs such as hp record now, and windows media, and it goes through the stages of copying, then half way it comes up with a pop up and doesnt complete.

can someone please help me?

and it also says there was a problem recording to disc, and tells me to try again.???

when i use windows media it says something different but my disk does not come out empty. should i dl a new program?

Windows Media Player cannot copy the selected files to the CD-R or CD-RW disc. To fix the problem, do one or more of the following:

Clean the disc and ensure that it is not damaged.
Select a slower recording (write) speed.
Try a different brand of CD-R or CD-RW disc.
Quit other programs.
To select a slower recording speed
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Devices tab.
In Devices, double-click the name of the CD-R or CD-RW drive, and then click the Recording tab.
In the write-speed list, select a slower speed.

I take it, they're MP3's and you want to burn them to a cd, to make an audio cd?

Use something like Nero, if u have it . Nero isn't free tho .

360050 2005-06-01 01:13:00 That error is often associated with media, ie, incompatible for the task/recorder.

Try different disks.

It could also be a DRM type issue. WMP is the last programme I'd use for coping music.
