360081 2005-05-31 17:36:00 One of my PCs has taken it upon itself to output in a yellow hue (apparently a lack of primary blue color) on bootup (ie. BIOS output is yellow). The monitor is fine b/c I have a KMV switch to another box which shows up fine. My initial inclination was to replace the graphics card but the new nVidia card also gave a yellow hue. This is the point at which my personal knowledge is exhausted. Any ideas as to how to proceed? The machine is a Dell running Debian Linux. THANKS. mpusey (8244)

360083 2005-05-31 21:02:00 Thanks - I've switched but to no avail. Any other suggestions? mpusey (8244)
360084 2005-05-31 21:37:00 Plug the monitor in direct to the pc. Still yellow? Its almost always the cable or plug. pctek (84)

If not the cable, then it's the KVM switch. Check by swapping the computer inputs over and see if the problem stays with the box or swaps sides.

360086 2005-06-01 05:14:00 - THANKS GUYS. PROBLEM FIXED.
- When I took the KMV switch completely out of the loop the problem was completely resolved. I had thought the machine was toast so this is great. Brand new Linux install now looks peachy (but I don't mean the hue).
- FYI prior to posting I had suspected cables and switched the KMV PC-end connectivity between my two PCs. Still problem persisted. Hadn't gone the whole hog and removed it all together. I guess I need a new KMV switch. Better than buying a new machine!
