360087 2005-05-31 14:33:00 I have been a very happy user Myie2 and later Maxthon for a long time now... But I have finally decided to install and try Mozilla Firefox after reading many positive comments on these forums about the browser.

After first run and try out I'm left a little dissapointed....

I cannot seem to make my favourites and or links open in new tabs automatically... instead I have to either right click and select 'open in new tab' or click link and manually drag it into tab bar... Is there a way I am missing to get links and or favourites to open automatically in a new tab???

Also in Myie2 you are able to set up mouse gestures to perform tasks... ie. 'Hold down left button on link and drag left' opens the link in new tab... Is there any way to do this in firefox????

Sorry if there are easy ways to do these things but for I just couldn;t figure them out...

Thanks for your help

M.

360088 2005-05-31 14:56:00 Try clicking the link with the middle mouse button (the scroll wheel). Also, if you have several links/bookmarks in a folder, you can just middle click on the folder to open all the bookmarks in seperate tabs instead of clicking on them seperately.
You can also close newly opened tabs by middle clicking on them.

Here are links to three extensions that provide you with mouse gestures.

easyGestures (addons.mozilla.org)

Mouse Gestures (addons.mozilla.org)

All-in-One Gestures (addons.mozilla.org)

360090 2005-06-01 07:24:00 That is easy as well - Tabbrowser Preferences (addons.mozilla.org). It should add a new section to your Preference area where you can control how the tabs are to function.

Have a look around Firefox Extensions (addons.mozilla.org) to see the sort of things available. :)
