360808 2005-06-03 02:06:00 Hi Stu. Possibly WINSCP?

What is WinSCP?
WinSCP is an open source SFTP client for Windows. Its main function is the secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers basic file manager functionality. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol.

WinSCP is also available as a plugin to two file managers, FAR and Servant Salamander.

Before using WinSCP, see what it can do and the application requirements.

License
WinSCP is free, open-source software, and is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

360810 2005-06-03 05:32:00 SCP is a TLA (Three Letter Acronym) . Since the total stock of TLAs was used up many years ago, many of them have been recycled so they have multiple definitions, which helps considerably in their main use: causing confusion .

A valiant attempt to overcome the shortage brought a brilliant concept: the Four Letter TLA . Even so, the insatiable desire for obfuscation has caused these to be exhausted too .

Confusion thrice compounded has been quadruply compounded . I suppose we have been saved from the Five letter TLA and Six Letter TLA by the fact that many people have difficulty spelling long words . Indeed, some find 1 letter words difficult . This is why GUIs were invented .

Actually, SCP = Secure Copy (or Secure Copy Protocol) and it uses SSH to transfer the files.

WinSCP is simply one of many front-ends for it for Windows.
