| 361282 | 2005-06-05 00:31:00 | Would someone who understands these things have a look at the following and tell me if the marks are good bad or indifferent. he tests were done with 3dmark03. To me the fps seemed very poor. I have an Athlon64 3200+ with 1024 megs ram and a Raedon 9800 pro graphics card. | 361284 | 2005-06-05 03:48:00 | I get 5765 marks for a P4 3 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 9800 Pro 128 MB So you have some issues there. Check your AGP settings, resource hogging "utilities" and spyware. Install a newer ATI driver. Ensure DirectX is current and motherboard drivers are current. |

| 361288 | 2005-06-05 11:40:00 | I used to get 5768 with a XP 2600+ and 9800 pro at stock speeds. Something aint right with your system Jack if it's performing that poorly. If worst comes to worst and you can't find the problem I suggest a reformat, install of chipset drivers, then good video drivers. Does seem a bit low for a 9800Pro. Actually your other components you mention are quite good, why not upgrade your card to a 6600GT? It will leave the 9800 for dead. Hardly an upgrade at all. Once AA and AF is turned on the 9800 pro actually starts to pull ahead due to the 256bit memory bandwidth compared with the 128bit bandwidth of the 6600GT. Then the difference is a slight advantage with the 9800 pro or basically the same compared with the 6600GT. If you really wanted to upgrade you would need to go to the next class of cards. |

Have you installed the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? Where did you buy your 9800pro from? Here's my results on a 9800pro, Athlon XP 3200+ and 1024Mb ram.
