361129 2005-06-04 05:53:00 In the central area, there aren't too many PC shops as the rent price tends to keep them out. There is Gamma (www.gamma.co.nz/) which is on the fringe of the city in Newton Road. Never been in the store myself so I'm not sure how large the range of products on display are for walk-in shoppers, but it is a large company (http:).

The bigger shops are out of the city more. PB Technologies (http://www.pbtech.co.nz/) is in Penrose just off the motorway, and it has an extensive display of products available.

361131 2005-06-04 06:51:00 Avoid SUpercheap. Very dodgy service.
Computer Lounge is on the town end of Mt Eden road. Tend to specialise in the high end stuff but excellent service.
Or go home and get on the net and do it all online. Much wider choice.

361134 2005-06-04 07:13:00 Gamma is too expensive .

There's Ezone (a chinese shop and one 2-3 shops down . also a chinese shop) .

Not big, but not too bad for prices either .

Compulink is pretty good for prices . Eden Computers down the road from me isn't too bad . BUT some things can be a bit expensive .

361136 2005-06-04 09:35:00 I think Compulink seem to specialise in Asian customers, my uncle got their comp off them.

overall I found the prices too steep

361137 2005-06-04 10:54:00 not gamma computers, this happened to one of their clients, they took 6 screws off a case & kept 4. this client tried to get them back - they refused. in the end he came to me & i put some new ones on. another client had vga driver problems - he had the disk & asked them how to reload it - they refused to tell him & said he had to bring it in (wasn't a warranty issue).
these guys became my clients ... the owner simply doesn't understand good customer service or relations.
