I built an i5 4690 with a Z97 U3 Plus motherboard. The mouse would not wake up my monitor when it would shut off, so maybe a BIOS update? NO! Because I took another hard drive and put my windows 7 on it and with a bare system the monitor did wake up after it shut off when I wiggled the mouse. So I removed the SATA cable and put it back on my original Drive and now it won't boot because it says "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software might be the cause. I inserted the Windows 7 disk and when I went to repair it, it wouldn't. What can I do? |

If you put the SATA cable back on the "other" HDD with just WIN7 on it, does it start? |

I had my data hard drive connected when I did this and now it's OK. I got it fix. I should have disconnected all drives when doing this. |
