1386403 2014-10-18 00:37:00 I just built a new computer and when the monitor is turned off say after 30 minutes the mouse or keyboard won't bring it back and I tried different monitors. However I can use the keyboard to turn it off. lostsoul62 (16011)
1386404 2014-10-18 03:38:00 What have you got it set to do in the Bios? CliveM (6007)
1386405 2014-10-18 03:46:00 Check Device Manager and look for Mice and other pointing devices. Click this line then dbl click the mouse displayed then click the Power Management tab. Is the box to allow the mouse to wake the comp ticked? If not, tick it. linw (53)
1386406 2014-10-18 13:20:00 I'm not sure where in the BIOS to go or to look for? Device manage says the mouse and keyboard or good and which Microsoft drivers which I put in later. I click the power management tab and it said that the mouse and keyboard will wake it up from sleep but it doesn't. If I put it to sleep manual it still won't wake up. It's a USB mouse. If I set the "Turn monitor off" for 30 minutes and come back the mouse and keyboard won't wake it up and it is not asleep because I put it to "Never be put to sleep" The power is still running and I put my mouse and keyboard drivers in it which are Microsoft. Now I have my monitor and pc to never turn off so I can't figure this one out? lostsoul62 (16011)

I have a USB mouse and keyboard. If I set the "turn off the display" after a certain time and come back after the display has went blank the mouse and keyboard won't turn it back on and it's not asleep because the pc is put it to "Never be put to sleep", The power is still running and I put my mouse and keyboard drivers in it which are Microsoft. I went into the BOIS but that didn't work but maybe I didn't do it right. Device manager says the mouse and keyboard are good and has Microsoft drivers which I put in later. I click the power management tab and it said that the mouse and keyboard will wake it up from sleep but it doesn't. If I put it to sleep manual it still won't wake up.

1386408 2014-10-18 18:45:00 Since changing the display, did you reboot the computer? It generally takes a reboot for the change to take place. Bryan (147)

1386410 2014-10-18 22:06:00 I recall a similar issue on this forum from speedy I think. He had to change to/from USB legacy support in the bios. I found a article which may help - involves a lengthy tutorial at toms hardware here. (www.tomshardware.com) The issue was solved by suspend USB setting and network controller.

But seems involved via advanced power settings. PF1's here that know hardware better than me, may want to read to see if it is helpful.

1386412 2014-10-21 10:32:00 Have you tried the power button on the case? I have mine set up so that the Mouse and Keyboard don't wake the machine because too often it causes an accidental wakeup. So I manually hit the button instead.

If even the power button doesn't work, maybe your video driver is crashing when it gets the monitor off command and the system is locking up.

When it's in that state, can you still access it via network or such? Ping it etc?
