1372278 2014-04-08 06:03:00 I would like to track down a cousin in England but have been going around in circles with my searches so thought I would ask the Wise Ones here for tips as I am sure I must be doing it wrong. As with David James in my previous thread, this name is equally common and just as big a challenge.

The website www.192.com/ could be useful but it wants money for results and I am a bit wary about such things. Has anyone subscribed with them and if so, what is the cost per search? I hate sites that want your details before giving out theirs.

1372284 2014-04-08 10:33:00 Phone book, Facebook and Google have all been tried and are useless as there are dozens and dozens of people with this person's name . It's a bit like trying to find the black box of MH370 .

PJ - sent another PM . :p

For very common names, unless the trackee is long dead, perhaps it might be faster/easier to track a father/mother/sister/brother/cousin etc and pick up the trail from there?

Middle names might help sort them out as well.

Cheers

I wish it were that easy, Billy .

I am assuming the person in question is still alive but do not know for sure . He puffed like a chimney when I met him years ago so although he is in his sixties it is possible that he has joined his parents in the Great Beyond . No siblings or children and I know of only one cousin to contact - an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the North Island who has ignored my correspondence enquiring whether he has kept in touch with our cousin .

Will be off to the library later today to see what details I might be able to dig up in their online resources .
