| 1372171 | 2014-04-08 00:40:00 | So they're pissy because they ditched their iOS app hoping to cut corners (Using SMS / MMS instead of their own messaging protocol), they cut corners, and got burned? They sound like fools. Why not just use something like XMPP for communication, no need to develop a whole entire protocol. Add in that the USA is only a small portion of the world, they're suggesting a 60 / 40 split for Android / iOS share but globally it's a lot closer to a 75 / 20 with a remaining 5% made up of Windows Phone / Blackberry: www.forbes.com (Android numbers haven't been released since July last year when they were at 1 billion, with over 1.5 million new additions daily, which roughly equates to 1.5 billion by now with modest projections) So they talk about limiting their market share, I think they're basically just upset because they made some stupid decisions and now they're trying to justify those stupid decisions to themselves. Zero sympathy from me. |
