1373234 2014-04-21 22:35:00 It is a bit reckless to assume the "Ultimate" in stupidity has arrived when there are so many diploma holders in local and central government actively pursuing new depths to plumb. We must also acknowledge the intellectual craptitude of those diligently seeking justification in astoundingly irrelevant statistics they can manipulate to divert attention from their own total lack of comprehension or aptitude.

Nope, when it comes to stupidity, I fear "you ain't seen nothin' yet".

1373235 2014-04-21 23:08:00 You lot should all get off your high horse .

What about drivers who forget to turn headlights on at night. Nah, just too bad for the poor sucker crossing the road.
What about cars traveling too fast, in poor light conditions, silver cars that just blend into wet overcast conditions & could be easily missed.
What about the blind, or those with poor eyesight , or kids who are famous for not looking both ways before crossing.
Lets not make things safer then.

All of the above is true, and as pointed out happens NOW with petrol or diesel vehicles -- So the question is How would making electric cars sound like petrol cars make any difference if people ignore the sound now ?

The answer-- no difference at all. :)

The whole subject in this thread is "electric cars to be fitted with devices that mimic the sound of a petrol engine "

+1

Personally, if I could snap my fingers and make all cars quiet, I would. So much less noise, so much nicer :)

1373239 2014-04-22 07:41:00 If I could perform magic I would cast a spell where everyone rode a bike for all journeys under 10km. I could halve hospital waiting lists at the same time. gary67 (56)
1373240 2014-04-22 08:25:00 Not sure about that, there would be more nice fat targets to knock off their bikes and these would end up in hospital prefect (6291)
1373241 2014-04-22 08:44:00 No cyclists in hospital, the pedal rick-bulances would be still en-route when the patients impatiently expired. R2x1 (4628)

But there would be quite a number who would be admitted to hospital after having to bike 9.9km.
Don't think my mum could...my dad never could, he only has 1 leg.
