As far as him being extradited to the US provided the correct judicial steps are followed it has nothing much to do with the NZ government. We have international treaties to cover things like that. Regardless of what anyone thinks in any particular case we must stand by those agreements if we expect other jurisdictions to do so when that is in our interests. | CliveM (6007) | ||

And remember how he got his money in the first place, most people forget all about his financial scams and only think of him as a "hero" for running a warez site. |

| 1372327 | 2014-04-09 20:37:00 | Why not extradite telecom's CEO for providing the services that criminals use to conduct their nefarious deeds? Or the Police for flagrantly associating with known criminals? Or the pillory for the head fable spinner at the Weather Office for persistently publishing porkies? The head of the Treasury should be very afraid too. |

Two posts in a row that make sense (CliveM and pctek) :D  |

Dotcom's business was set up to take advantage of those who think it is smart to steal from others. I agree that the everything that comes from the weather office is fiction, a rough guess at best. Why anyone belives that the same people who cannot tell you what the weather will be like next week can tell you what the temperature of the earth will be in 50 years is beyond me. |

Just perhaps, he got a good education, got excellent jobs, was good at his jobs, looked for jobs in countries that paid more than NZ, saved & invested wisely Perhaps working 7 days a week , long hours & not spending all weekend on the booze helped ? perhaps ? Perhaps he didnt look to blame others for his plight, he just did something about it rather than wait for handouts But no, lets hammer the rich. All of them. |

You could argue large data plans (and unlimited data plans) are designed to attract people who wish to use the internet for piracy. Ignoring the fact that there are many legitimate uses for large data plans, just like there are many legitimate uses for storing large quantities of data online and being able to share it. |

A bit of a Red Herring don't you think? A road builder makes it possible for you to break the law by speeding but they definately do not encourage you to do so. Dotcom's whole business model was set up to reward/pay those who made illegal content available for download. |
