| 1386702 | 2014-10-23 00:28:00 | I bought an i5 4690 with a MSI Z97 U3 plus motherboard and a r7 260x video card. When I load the video drivers I can't wake up my monitor when it goes to sleep. So I got a Gigabyte r9 270x video card and the same thing happens. I called up MSI tech support 5 times to solve the problem but it didn't get solve. So after 10 hours of trouble shooting the power options I have to tear my computer apart and send in the motherboard and order another on. I hope this solves the problem. I have a nice Gigabyte video card and video drivers are the problem so I figure what Gigabyte motherboard should I get? | lostsoul62 (16011) | ||
| 1386703 | 2014-10-23 01:21:00 | I don't know how to edit my post so this is on my first post. I spent 10 hours trouble shooting my power options. I could not get my monitor to turn back on after it went to sleep. After I put Video drivers in is when it happened. I even bought a $200 Video card to see if that would make a difference and it didn't. I called MSI tech support up 5 times on my motherboard and that didn't work. I was using a DMI or HDMI cable. I switch over to DVI and now my power options worked. Does anyone know anything about this? | lostsoul62 (16011) | ||

Before putting in my video drivers it would take 5 or 6 seconds to turn the monitor back on and after any video drivers it would not work period. I change to DVI cable and the power options worked and it took about 1 second to turn the monitor back on. All this was many hours for my time so I wonder why? |

I built a PC with an ASUS Mb and Gigabyte GPU. I initially had the same thing with the monitor.....all I did was persist. Unplug, try both ports on monitor etc.....and then it worked. Hasn't done it again since. Beats me why too. |
