361862 2005-06-07 10:05:00 Hi there,

I have 2M of photos on a 600M cd-r disk but cannot put any more on it.

The disk keeps getting ejected from the burner and when I look in Properties the disk is shown as being full.

I am supposed to be able to add groups of photos until the disk is close to 600M [ I know it doesn't get the whole 600M.] but only 2M is pretty poor storage.

How can I over come this?

Merv.

CD-R are not a "read-write" medium in "normal use"
They are written to and "closed" for maximum reliability, and this sounds like what has happened here.

You need to burn as a "multi-session" disk if you want to add more files later.

Each "session" completely rewites the TOC (table of contents) so any corruption and you can lose the entire contents. Regrettably that does happen as well, they are less reliable than a hard drive. Still much better than CD-RW disks though.
