Running WinXP (SP2) and a few weeks ago replaced a CD-ROM drive with an available DVD/CD-ROM, no problems until today, burnt some WIN 95 files to a CD-R, then any CD would only open once after booting and trying to open another CD resulted in the Drive light flashing and then a deathly hush. Checked every setting I could find and everytime got "There are no problems". Eventually as a trial in Control Panel / Sound & Audio/ DVD/CD-R / unticked "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM Device". Rebooted and now any CD opens at any time!! |
