362643 2005-06-10 08:39:00 Hi there,

I have owned my Acer Extensa laptop for about 5 months now. When i originally got it, every now and then it hissed annoyingly when i used the mouse (either touchpad or USB external), and quietly when it was still. The mic was turned off, volume quite low so it wasnt feedback issues. I took it to the Acer repair centre who diagnosed it as a BIOS issue, and updated the BIOS. Now, unfortunately, it has started doing it again. Does anyone have any possible idea of the cause for this? Strange thing is, my sister bought the exact same model at the same time and hers isnt playing up at all!!

Cheers for any help/advice,
Roddy

362644 2005-06-11 00:04:00 Slight possibility it might be an IRQ conflict.. have you had a look in Device Manager especially at mouse/touchpad and soundcard for any issues?

Other than that, sounds more like a motherboard issue. Take it back to the Acer repairers especialy if still under warranty
