| 362616 | 2005-06-10 03:23:00 | Just moved my computer back into my room after cleaning it (the room) and when plugged the computer in and switched the psu on it made an odd sort of crackling noise along with a high pitched whine (the whine has been there since I bought it though)... I was just about to pull it out and put a new one in when I noticed the motherboard connector seemed a little easy to pull out, so I pushed it in hard an the crackling stopped. anything to be worried about or maybe just a loose motherboard connection? (odd since the crackling was from the psu, not the motherboard). |

Loose/intermittent connections are Bad Things. A switchmode supply might get quite excited (and make odd noises) if it is subjected to such a thing. :) Don't worrry about it. |
