The problem laptop running XP SP2 will still connect to the web through the home network and download info' but now when typing into search engines, logins/passwords etc, the system times out with the bad URL message (i.e. only happens on uploading at least text). This may be linked to a Trojan file (the name which escapes me) but which has since been cleaned out with Spybot. Interestingly it works as a stand alone through its own modem. Firewalls do not appear to be the issue since I disabled those on both the computer and server. The other 3 laptops all work correctly on internet sharing so the problem points to the problem laptop. Short of uninstalling the network connections and/or reloading windows, is there anything else I can do please? |
