362811 2005-06-10 22:36:00 Find the manual for your router, this will list its ip, enter the IP into the address bar of your browser, Get jiggy.

A username/pw box will pop up, enter whats listed in the manual (usually admin/admin or admin/password)

This will open up all the internel settings for the router, and will be where you will have to change the user name and password.

The other reference you made was to email, thats a seperate entity, The new company you are going through will have the basic steps and required settings on their webpage.

If you cant find the manual it will most probally be available as a download from the manufacturers site.

I am not familiar with your router, but first find your IP address and Default Gateway. To do this ...

Click on Start, Run and type cmd
Then in the Command window that pops up type IPCONFIG
Copy down the IP number and the Default Gateway number.
Close the window.

Open up your browser and try putting in the Default Gateway no. into the Address field eg, it will be something like http://192.168.?.?. Press Enter. If a login page is displayed do as Metla says and try typing admin for the username and admin for the password or password for the password. If the default gateway address does not bring up the login page try using the IP address.

362815 2005-06-11 03:37:00 I thought 10.0.0.1 would work with that modem but since you say it doesn't then try http: FoxyMX (5)
362816 2005-06-11 03:48:00 Unfortunately, "Connection denied" means that a server does exist at the address given. There is a security setting which "denies" access. You might need to find a way to reset the unit to its default settings. Graham L (2)
