363388 2005-06-12 17:22:00 Alright, most of my games have this problem. Anywhere from 1-20 minutes into the game, the computer gets sent into standby. I have no idea why this is happening. Let me give you the list of problematic games vs. good games

Problems with:
Guild Wars
Psychonauts
Rome: Total War
Empire Earth II

Good Games:
Half-life 2
Battlefield 1942
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War
Neverwinter Nights

Here are my specs
ASUS K8N4-e Deluxe Mobo
AMD 64 3000+
Mushkin 512MB pc3200 RAM
DVDRW
120GB HDD
PCI-e 6600GT GPU

Btw, I just bought a 20 to 24 pin converter, cause I have read that AMD 64's may be a little unstable powerwise with a 20 male end in the 24 pin female.

I know I have enough cooling. So, if anyone has any recommendations, they would be extremely appreciated

363389 2005-06-12 20:58:00 You could just go into Power Options and turn off standby. Greg (193)
363390 2005-06-12 22:14:00 I used to have the same problem too, the source of my problems seemed to be my ATi 9600XT got rid of that and upgraded to a 6800LE and problems went away. You already have a nvidia card so that makes things interesting you could look for bios updates (fixed some of my graphics probs), What drivers are you running ? You could also try turning down some settings eg AA, quality etc and see if that helps Overdrive_5000 (4950)
363391 2005-06-13 01:52:00 Apparantely 6600GT's aren't stable for every but me, so that makes me feel better. I was reading on some other forums, that early 71.xx drivers were more stable, so I got those, going to try them out ;) housefish17 (8342)
363392 2005-06-13 02:35:00 THE DRIVERS WORKED

Thanks for the suggestion
